Wondering how many of you still pleat the tails on your mink when you board it. It takes alot longer I know but I like the looks of that pleated tail.

It looks great but It Isn't going to get you any more money. Go full length and slap a piece of cardboard over It and stick In a few push pins.

What do you mean by pleated tails? I pleat the legs of my mink over to beside the tail to form a square butt as in these pictures . Is this what you mean or something else.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

No, you actually push the tail up to make it shorter, back in the day it was supposed to make the back fur fuller and price a little higher, but the Beav is right the price now for mink it isn't really worth the effort. I still do it just because I like the looks.

It was a common practice for years, but maybe 5-6 years ago, an auction house began discouraging it.

Just doing what I want now.

Still pleat my mink and coon tails. Just because that's the way I've put them up for quite a while. I know prices are low and it won't matter but I love my time in the fur shed and take pride in my work.
