The chain between the trap to a drag. Do I need to dip it or just leave it. I never ran any drags and that had me wondering. I did the trap and drag. Thanks

As long as it's clean I'd say you're good.

I boiled mine to get the factory grease off, other than that they’re untreated. The whole de-scenting thing is way overplayed. If it’s shiny just kick some dirt over it

Boil mine. Don't know if it makes a difference but it's piece of mind.

... chain will last longer if you treat it with the trap

...treating trap equipment is more about rust prevention than scent ... if you’re worried about scent and don’t care about rust weakening and eventually eating through all your chains and traps... just throw everything in a pig pile next to the firewood lol

Drag and Chain both Love using drags. Just make sure you drags around thick stuff. A coyote or cat gets in and open harrowed field it can go a long ways.

I think it also depends where you place/bury the drag. If directly under your(which is often easiest when trapping bare frozen ground)IMO descenting only helps.

I use slide wires for fox sometimes (11 ga wire) & never treat it. No problems. Always treat trap & chain as usual

Till that day.....
