Man I’m pumped, only two days left until we are loading up and heading North!

i used to be in that group . Then they came up with the stupid season change. Now the only trappers able to trap up north are the ones living there or the ones that dont have a family that wants them home for Christmas . Don't understand what was wrong with the old season. Just my 2 cents worth. Sorry I blew up. Have a great time. I do have many memories of some great times up there.

Same here, bags are packed and loading up the truck. Will be heading "up nort" Friday morning in hopes of catching my first martin. Trapperman Rick Olson has graciously invited me to come up and stay while he shows me how it's done. Just like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Trapperman222, oh I am in the same boat as you, if it wasn’t for the covid I would be pulling traps on Wednesday and driving home early Thursday morning to be with extended family. I have a wife and two kids and they will both be with this year!

Last year we drove home Christmas Eve and drove back up to pull the line day after Christmas. It was a lot of driving but worth it. My son got his first marten.

The only thing good about the season change is kids that do not live up there get to go because they are out of school over break. Yes I will be given some difficult decisions in the years to come

Mixed feelings on the later season critters grade heavy but now there not worth much.muzzle loader season is done but ruff grouse hunting is still open,they close sharp tail grouse season November 30 I’m not sure why they think they should keep ruff grouse season open through the bobcat/fisher and marten season so at times there is still conflicts with hunting dogs personally I don’t use any 220 or 160’s for that reason.Christmas is a very special time for family’s to be together so that’s another con to the later season,I am lucky that the critters are in my back yard and no travel is needed,thanks for the kind words and have a great season if your heading out this weekend.

Blessed time of the year in most ways. And not deep snow or -20 deg forecast this year. Seeing more fisher than in the past several.

I haven't sold much other than coyote and beaver in a few years. Now is the time to keep some for yourself.

I live here and like the season. Tom Boser and his 10 yr old are coming for the 2nd year. It would not happen if not over this time. If we don't limit my bet is they come for the final trap pull too.

Morning won't come soon enough. Truck is loaded and just finishing up a few last minute things before heading "up nort" in quest of my first martin and bobcat. Even if I come away empty handed I'm still looking forward to the time with Rick and learning from an old pro like him. Thank you Rick for being my mentor on this adventure! Hope to have some cool pictures for everyone in a few days!

I’m bringing up 4 yotes and thee beaver to skin and put up before we start checking traps. Fell behind here at home. Hoping to have more time up on the northern line

Got to the cabin around 3:00 and had fresh marten tracks and 2” of new snow! Supposed to get another 1/2” or so overnight. Son put one weasel box out at a brush pile down the road. Good luck everyone

The guys from out of town showed up yesterday to set up camp. We were scouting today in the fresh snow today and had a marten cross the road 50 yards ahead of us! Should be another great week.

Got up to Rick's about 12:30 this afternoon. Spent the day scouting and showing me around the area. Baited martin boxes, loaded the truck and then called it a day. Tomorrow can't come soon enough!
