What are your thoughts on spraying or squirting 150 or 190 proof alcohol on the lure & or bait to revitalize it instead of rebaiting? Especially during freezing temps.

I would think the propelene glycol from your trap supply would be better. It's use in making lures. I think that a 2 part water, 1 of PG is the ratio. You could probably throw a pinch of urine in it if you wanted. If you add a pinch urine or gland make you don't hit your trap bed

You would be surprised on what a animal can smell even If the bait Is frozen solid. I wouldn't mess with It let your lure do It's job.

I use salt when I set in cold weather. I already have it on my basket for trap bed antifreeze. So I sprinkle some on bait to keep it from freezing.
Also keeps a dirt hole looking fresh.
It works good if your deer numbers are low.

I use propylene glycol 50/50, works pretty good till it gets majorly cold. I would think that alcohol would just evaporate. $.02

The alcohol evaporating is kinda the point but i see your point of evaporating kinda fast.. I read on here somewhere that using alcohol to evaporate / disperse the smells of bait and lures when you are making them. Just wondering if anybody has tried it and if it worked.

Not sure how much help it would be on top of your bait/lure. Mixed in with the same would help push out the odors more.

I think it’s a waste of perfectly good vodka ! But seriously like the Beav said , they can smell it without any help. If frozen bait were a problem Boco would not be able to catch anything.
