do anything different with your extra time to do to shut downs etc. Did you learn a new skill or start a new hobby?
I made bread this year for the first time. I also spent more time with my children and in the garden. I also got out of debt other than my house. 2020 wasn't all that bad.

I didn't have any extra time myself. Worked right through it like normal.

Being an essential cabinet builder I seemed to work more OT this year than last. I expect that's about to come to a screeching halt here shortly.

Up until the election. 2020 was an awesome year for me, my farm and business.

I worked 40 hours a week instead of the normal 50. The time I saved was time not being in stores or public events.(festivals, concerts, gatherings, and such)

I had less time because I ran the farm One handed...family that usually did visits or helped with big projects couldn't come over. First 4 months of spring/summer.

But I did do A Crazy fun Canoe trip in August with my Uncle, Daughter and son in law.

Gotcha. I didn't consider that angle. With that considered I fished a lot more than normal this summer!

Was an awesome year.
One son graduated high school and he started college.
His team won the state baseball championship. He now pitches in college.
Bought a new acreage, sold our old house.
Ran two half marathons.
Busy, busy, busy year at work.
Mrs. Had rotator cuff surgery.
I dislocated my shoulder, tore my bicep, triceps, pecs.
Caught a lot of coyotes in short amount of time.
Taught my boys how to skin them. (and how not to skin them ha ha)
Did some beaver damage work.
Found some rattlesnakes.
Caught a lot of fish.
Took some really cool trips through KS and IA.
Spent a lot of time with family.
Had an absolute ball.
Met new friends.
Drank a lot of beer.
Watched a couple meteor showers, and that starlink satellite train too.
Saw a tornado, too.
Walked a jillion miles doing nightly trail walks with my wife. Best thing we did together by far.
Can't wait to see what next year brings!!!

Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

We worked more O.T. at the mill as lumber prices were stupid high. Between work and selling our house and trying to get a manufactured home set up on our property not much time for anything else. My wife and kids are firm quarantine believers so haven't seen kids or grandkids since March. I am ready for 2021.

Well my daughter was shot, mom got cancer and covid, I had two two week quarantines due to direct exposure.
So I missed a month and a half of work . My car dropped a valve. My company of 14.5 years sold my plant not sure how that will pan out yet. I predict the economy will be heading south soon.

That's the negative.

The positive

My mom is doing well, my daughter is improving, I built a 30x75 foot high tunnel and got some water lines ran to the high tunnel and for grazing . I still have a great job, I'm debt free, made plenty of money in spite missing work, found a good deal replacement vehicle. My boys had a great deer season got quite a few squirrels and now have about a dozen traps out. God is king and life is good.

Edit; I'm just not sure what this spair time your speaking of is.

Moved to a home office which is something I have always wanted...lunch at home, afternoon walks with the kids and hounds, no office BS, shot rifles most clear mornings, hunted most good hunting days, trapped some, had a super productive work year, remodeled a hobby room for my wife, few other projects. Probably one of the best years of my life.

Lots of highs and lows. Definently more lows than highs.

Worked straight through it.
Saved over $30K with everything being shut down at first and the wife working from home.
Had an awesome turkey season.
Having an awesome deer season with getting to watch 2 young men take their first deer, one of them being my son.
Got to celebrate and be in on the recovery of two people getting their first bucks.
Got to see my parents amaze me yet again at their old age by just living life how they want and not government mandates.
Other than the election and Georgia losing to Florida, it’s been a good year.

All in all a good year here. Worked all year till i got covid not too bad but still. Wife took a little more time to get over it but we're still together lol. Kids are all doing well and moving up as adults. Killed my biggest deer to date, took my first cruise, bought a 5th wheel and camped. Moved mom and dad out of Orgeron and within 5 miles of me and my job. Hopefully to get a mountain lion in the next 2 weeks and looking forward to next year.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

HAPPY NEW YEAR

GOD BLESS

Most of my boondoggles got cancelled so I used the time off to get cataract surgery on both eyes when Drs started doing elective surgeries after the initial shut down. Tried to get a knee replaced but could not get it scheduled in time to save this season so I put that off a few months.

I did miss seeing lots of folks this year. And I have sure seen a lot of things happen I would have never in my wildest dreams think would ever happen.

But I am still kicking after another birthday and am still setting a few traps under coyote's paws so it is not all bad. Going to do my best to enjoy whatever time I have left heading into 2021.

Well We paid off all our debt except our house in February, got laid off back in may. Remodeled the house and fixed and painted everything inside and out, listed the house and moved my family back to Nevada from Montana to be closer to my folks. Lost both of my grandmothers in June. Spent a lot of time in the hills with my kids. Did some prospecting, some fishing. Celebrated 1 year sober on august 23rd. Landscaped my parents huge yard, installed sprinklers and drip lines for all the sod and flowerbeds and trees I put in, fenced it, and gravelled the driveway. Helped the neighbors lay sod, helped the other neighbors build a pole barn. Did a lot of trapping. Put in for several real jobs but I haven’t got any calls back. Gonna go down to job service this week and see if they can help me find one. Odd jobs aren’t getting me where I need to be. Gonna start a nursery this spring, hopefully make enough money at it that within 5 years it can be my full time job. But I need capital to buy acreage and drill a well.

I’m sure there’s other stuff I’m forgetting but those are the highlights

Always have more irons in the fire than I can tend. Spread thin. More new grandkids I hope to take bear hunting one of these days.
