These metal tent screws look like the real deal.

Looks like a good Idea. They even use them or something like that to hold down ice fishing shanties.

My only concern, aside from the cost, would be if the chain bind on them the animals could unscrew them but that seems pretty unlikely,,, that a keeping a drill charged. lol

They could pretty easily be built with some smooth-rod a nut and a washer split and bent just right and all welded together.

An old buddy of uncle used to take 18" long 3/8 square stock and heat it up with an Acetalene torch and give it a good twist in the vise with a pipe wrench. When you drive them in they twisted around. No matter how frozen things get, just put a crescent wrench on the nut and back it out. Just one will hold the meanest critter. I have 8 of them and they work. I want to make a bunch more. Just need to buy or borrow a AC torch

ADC- Drill is my biggest negative, but since I got my Makita 18V 1/2" Impact Lithium it charges in like 15 Minutes. STill waiting for my anchors to test. Price I guess it depends on removal.

Pulling those out of 18" of frozen ground would be tough. The winch on the truck would prob destroy them. There is such a thing as over-kill

I use all the dog leash screws I can get from my local thrift store($1 ea) at set locations where I can put them in the ground before it freezes where I will make hay/flat/compass, hay/urine post sets, portable dirt hole, some pre made dirt holes, trash pile walk thru and log sets. Good swivel added to them. Many have been in ground 10 yrs before they rust enough to not be trusted(but I don't set for coyotes much).

I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

They make Ice screws and you can drill them In and then reverse the drill and remove them . We use them to anchor our Ice shanties and pop up shelters.
I guess you could weld on some rod and a nut and use them for trap stakes
