Good morning it’s going to be a spotted day,it’s breakfast time now.Good luck to all the Mn trappers

Another great day in the woods,deer were moving no marten tracks,1 random cat track,1 fox track and one coyote track.No animals were harmed today,had a good time with Tim,just couldn’t pull a bobcat out of the while he was here.With the forecast with WIND and snow Tim left after the check today,we pulled 5 locations this morning,I will leave the rest til Sunday,I’m confident Tim will get his first cat he just won’t be there to witness it in person.Jim I hope that cat came back and paid the price for eating the other bobcat.It’s been fun and there’s a few checks left,have a great rest of the day.Heading over to Brian and Logan place to help them put out two cat sets before the storm,passing it on is what it’s all about!!!

Well we checked traps on Monday and today. Monday we ended up with 6 of our 8 needed marten. Pulled a bunch of traps and only left a few out to catch our last two. Today’s check left us with empty marten sets but we’re able to snag our first otter on a one night soak.

Pulled all but one marten trap due to the storm and not being able to reach any of the other sets once the snow gets too deep.

Son got his first ever grouse on Sunday then he shot three more on Monday and one on Tuesday. Eating good.

Jim, thanks for the kind words. I try to do whatever I can to get my kids interested in being outdoors as society trys to keep them in.

Managed to get three of the six finished tonight, just waiting to turn them. I never have been very good with fur but I enjoy it and I’m definitely not doing it for the money 🤣.

Yeah I was pretty fortunate growing up, hopefully they feel the same way.

Only had one marten trap out Wednesday night and it was empty so we put four more out yesterday. Going to check traps shortly and check another spot for otter tracks

Well today was a success, started with the kids opening Santa’s presents then a big breakfast. Headed up the trail to check Brynn’s five marten traps and two of them connected. After traps were pulled the kids got to go sledding and now back to the cabin for the Vikings game and turkey supper.

Definitely a Christmas to remember!

Well I got the last five finished today, it sure was nice not having to leave the cabin today.

Trucks mostly packed and will be hitting the long road home tomorrow morning.
