I've made 4 or 5 horns... In fact I just finished a screw tip a couple weeks ago... But I have yet to work up the nerve to try scrimming any, I can mess up the simpler parts of the project without adding horrible scrimshaw to the list. LOL

Mike A screw tip is on my to do list. Engraving is fun. If you mess up, just scrape it off and do it over. And if you look at original horns, they weren't all artists that made them.

It would be really nice to see a tutorial of the process. I'll try to take some pics of the process. Want to see just the carving or the entire horn making process?

You definitely should try one, if you can make a regular powder horn then a screw tip isn't much more work. I had to have a few tools and jigs that made it go a bit easier but it wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. Mike
