This is for the the guys in the great white north. How good does the propelene glycol mix work for antifreeze? I'm trying to get away from the corrosive stuff.

Cool, works for me. Will it soften up a spot for trap bed after 2 or 3 days? We have a solid 18 - 20" of frost so far so dirt holes are out.

Dont think it would get the penetration. Might need to find a Pulaski if you want to be able to dig a trap bed.

All I need is 1 inch max for a bed. I'm using #2 Bridger dogless. The flattest trap I have ever used. 2 or 3 application should give me a trap bed.

red mt, trying to hammer my sugar sand/clay is not an option. Pure concrete. Unless I want to drag a Hilti T82 hammer drill around. The chlorite based antifreeze will do it but I'm trying to get away from the corrosive stuff. 2 or 3 apps of the chlorite stuff will do it but it is too hard on the traps. That's why I'm wondering if a good soaking might work.

Hern, Yukon, I run my line fron an ATV. No room for weed burners and LP or waxed dirt. Tried waxed dirt last winter and it wasn't any good when things got below 0 deg. It wasn't that it froze hard, it is really hard to pack a good trap set. It want's to stay really loose when it is really cold. Our frost is over 24" and going deeper. Stakes and anchors are out. I work the edge of the crop stubble and Oak woods. I use cable ext to anchor. There is always saplings/small trees to hook to. My need is for a non corrosive antifreeze. AllI need is a 1" deep trap bed.

Coyotes are always changing their route's so pre digs aren't much of an option.

Pre-dig trap beds before freeze up.

Sounds good in theory but doesn't work so well in reality. Too many variables such as not being able to access area due to deer hunting or farmer works up the fields just beforehand. Like Grey Beard said, they change their routes about that time too due to many of the same reasons.
