I've been saying this for the longest lol. Would really like to find someone who could make those style springs for regular long springs as replacements

Wolf, i was thinkin the springs from the old MB coni that was 160 size would work. They had smaller spring eyes.

I’ve got some #3 B&L DLS that I modified with the plan of using for coyotes.

In my travels, I always find coyote pee posts out on the beaver flow ages that I trap. Does anyone have a good system for bedding a long spring right on top of the ice?

Reading through all the pages of this thread, I was really surprised to not see people listing all the reasons they hated longs! A few years ago I bought some new Bridger #3 DLS when either F&T or PCS had them on sale. I wish I knew someone I hated bad enough to give them those traps. In fairness, I used victors and Newhouse 2’s as a kid and never had trouble with them, and I have some Victor 4’s that set nice as well, so I can’t say I hate ALL longs, but I sure despise those Bridgers 3’s!

Maybe you’re right. Maybe they’re 4’s. I just dug one out to look at it to see if it was marked. Couldn’t find that it was but they had been painted. Tried to set it to measure the jaw spread and very quickly reaffirmed why I hated them so much

Fiske,
I don’t hate you, but you’re certainly more than welcome to them. Let me see how many of them I still have. Thankfully I only bought six to try.
