truck seldom sat more than 3 and rarely had good dry storage.
once trucks got a backseat you could put kids in decent they started to get much more popular as family vehicles .
I have hunted from a Saturn S , and a mini van as well as my 15 passenger van many times.
grandpa's old window van , dads old conversion van as well as 3 trucks I have owned
my uncle always had a truck but it was 2wd till around 2006
when the kids were little and money was tight , my 12 ga in the passenger seat cooler across the back seat and trunk full of sleeping bag and gear 35 miles to the gallon to and from camp but had to cut the deer up and bone them out to pack them, in the cooler. stop once for gas.

Now days you don't see deer tied on top of cars, fenders, etc. Too offensive for the general public.
Times they have changed. I used to show movies at our church around Christmas. Usually would show Laurel & Hardy and Little Rascals B&W. I was told by a couple mothers that they felt the movies were too violent for their kids. I almost thought about showing the 3 Stooges next year! As a result, I stopped showing movies. Some of the kids were disappointed, they really enjoyed Laurel and Hardy.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

Nov 2019 I didn't get regular deer camp my uncles funeral was the Monday after opener , got out Tuesday morning for a bit at a cousins after the funeral both my son and I got nice bucks , quick feild dress them and load them on the roof of the wife's mini van and tie them down good. they were so fresh I had blood all down the driver side. quick got back to the hotel by checkout at 11am and drove home the looks I got , in norther WI about 90% waves and thumbs up for the nice bucks the rest neutral. got down to Madison area , more like 75% scowls and discussed looks stopped at the McDonalds in Waupun girl with out of state plates parks next to me then gets out as she stands up she realizes she is looking into a bucks eyes , wow that was a look , I don't think she was expecting that. in her mind I think she heard banjo music as she recovered from the shock. I see it as expanding peoples cultural experiences

As a child I remember deer being tied over the front fenders of the cars was common. Do that today you would total the front end.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
