22% just for today? That's pretty good considering the market is down quite a bit.

But, it's really meaningless. You need to look at your return over the long haul...no daily.

Oh that again. It's easy to have a large percentage move off of a very low price base.

From my perspective if you are looking to capture short term gains and invest frequently so you can buy and sell much like a day trader or semi day trader then at those levels I would be selling and buying other items you feel will give you fast growth. Or you could formulate a portfolio that is geared for the longer term and then I would be doing crossword puzzles, exercising or doing other activities instead of selling. I have never been the former so my insights are very narrow in scope. We are actually starting to move some items that we purchased over 25 years ago especially those where our capital gains are limited due to having paid capital gain distribution taxes in the past. We are also trying to find new investments and moving away from dividends if possible as dividends are taxed at the full IRS and state rates and capital gain (growth) can be taxed as low as zero and has high as 20 with state reductions as well.

That’s great, if I were you I’d sell now. Then reinvest in something a little less volatile. That’s just me though, I prefer the slow and steady climb over the rollercoaster.

I would stay clear of stocks for a while and see where Bidens election takes us .I don't think it will be good.

I don't think you need to wait long. By wednesday the market should reflect the GA election. It already started today.

If both RATS win, expect a market drop right away. But eventually the market will realize that with RATS in control of all levers of government stimulus money will know no limits. The market will like that...............until the bond market takes away the punch bowl.

Gridlock would be the best possible outcome but given opportunity for more fraud I'd be surprised if that happens

The precedent has been set, the FED will take over the bond market if necessary.

I still see the FED buying equities if necessary.

If buying and selling in a volatile stock/market remember there are day trader requirements. I'm happy to be beating the indexes on a yearly bases. Markets go up and they come down, on average 5 times faster than they rise. On a daily basis, 20% isn't an unrealistic gain for a hot stock with emotional news either up or down. That said, stocks are influenced more by movements in market segments than individual stock news.

How silly is it that in order to preserve our wealth we need to either passively invest in all of the mega corps (that almost guaranteed to oppose us morally and politically) or we need spend enormous amounts of time to become experts in niche fields to finds decent investments or get lucky picking obscure 3 letter symbols?

I heard X CiA Robert Steel say NSA have proof Wall Street stole 100 Trillion from main stream and laundered 100 Trillion. He has told them to come clean or die. You wonder why they want to get rid of Trump?

I agree. With 35% of the M2 money supply being printed in 2020 alone they aren't scared of injecting money everywhere, so why not the stock market? The market is already in a huge bubble and I think will continue to climb for awhile. The only thing I've been buying is energy and midstream stocks with 8+٪ dividends.

Financial questions should be directed to Coonman for an explanation.

Curious what your investing strategy is. I have a little play money that I actively invest - but don't day trade. My play money never does as well as my set-it-and-forget-it money in index funds. Every year I think I'm smarter than I am and I try again.
