I just caught a coon on a trail that leads to the only open water in the area but he tore up the area and the trail so is there good approach to this

Yes, reset the area with more sets, because more animals will use the same trail, and the odder from the 1st. coon will bring other to the same area.

Just set farther down the trail where it hasnt been disturbed and set again, assuming that was your question.

Throw in a couple dirt holes where the trail used to be and set in the trail away from the torn up patch
