3 Fingers OP trapper 3 Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 1,629 alaska	Once in awhile I’ll have a low hanging catch and if another comes along they may bite the dead one, especially in the lower back area, leaving a bunch of pinholes. Well this year every single marten I caught ( not too many due to lack of effort) was full of these pinholes healed over. Any thoughts on this?? As a side note , there were no marten in the river bottom habitat. All were in the burn, 5 years old, and a banner blueberry crop coupled with Yellow Cheeked Vole colonies (filet mignon of voles IMO) had the marten fat and happy. Would not climb and no interest in beaver bait. It took tipup poles to get the few I did.
