Been having carpal tunnel flaring up and hammering stakes isn't doing me any favours, I picked up some 400mm landscaping screws and using a cordless drill to put em in - 2 per trap crossed.
We have heavy soil here and I can't pull them out by hand.

Very interesting. My elbow hurts continuously through the season from pounding Wolf Fang earth anchors but mostly because there is so much shale. in the ground here. Not sure if I could get a screw through that shale. 400 mm would be about 16". What would you say the diameter of the screw is. Obviously you'd need a HD washer too.

A old family friend used 3/8 square stock that he heated with an Acetalene torch and twisted into a spiral. As you drive them, they twisted into the ground. With a 1/2" nut welded on top,I wonder if a 18-20 volt battery impact might do the job. Just give it a sharp point.

I haven't tried It yet but what about buying some 1/2" Lag bolts and cutting off the head and welding on a length of rebar or smooth stock. Weld a nut on the top end that will will fit a socket In your cordless drill and screw them In.
