cable or the slide rod.

Not a good idea for that particular attachment. I only use them with my 330’s, and at the other end of the anchor, not next to the trap. No second thought using those snaps even in at wolverine sets. I hitch my cable before the snap so there is basically no potential for much load or shock to the actual snap.

I wouldn't if you want to keep your catch and trap. I used the quick latch carabiner to connect my cable to my weight. I got luckey the beaver some how got twisted up in another sets drowning cable dragging
that cable around before wringing off. I lost the beaver but at least keep my trap.

My clip was still on the cable the weight wasn't. I sure have a wadded up mess of cables to unwrap.

I would use one of those links with a threaded closure for your application. Still fast but secure.

I have used the Brass Plated Trigger Snap (3/4") for beaver for over 10 years and have never had a problem. I also use quick links.

I'd stick with quick links, doesn't take much time with a pair of pliers to open and close them.

Those are what I use too. I use em on my coyote traps too. Never a compromise.

Just remember to close them tight, I know a guy who didn't and off went his coyote and trap when he went to check one day.
