One of my favorite way to blind set in snow. Learned this in a book written by Russ Carmen 40 years ago. I ride down a logging road, stop get off and walk back on the tire track. I punch the snow down, fill with loose snow and put a trap in a produce bag and bed the trap in the snow. I always wait until a fresh snow is forecast. I don't cover the trap at all. I also use some subtle blocking in the other tire track and use two small sticks that form a V. The V cause the animal to center his food over the pan. I put this set in yesterday when they were calling for snow.

We use to back up to a snow bank or some other type cover and do a burn out and then walk back In the tracks and make a set In those burn outs. Wasn't a high producer but It did work.

Got any pictures of what the trap looks like in the produce bag? I have a spot or two I'm thinking would work for this set.

Don't have a pic but it's an MB55 slipped into the produce bag. I tuck the corners under the trap and run a slice in the plastic bag across the top from lever to lever.

Ok, got it. But what are you calling a produce bag? Like a ziplock?

I believe he means the bags that you use when at the grocery store buying fresh produce very thin plastic bags. I assume to keep it from freezing down

Correct. The one from the grocery store although I buy them online and they have no printing. I think they’re 1 gallon. Instead of dirt, I bed them in snow by packing it around the frame an jaws. The plastic keep them from freezing to the snow. I don’t generally sift snow over them hunless it’s single digit cold. I just let natural snow cover them.
