Got the Duke safety setter (or whatever it's called, keeps it from being able to fire till taken off). Problem is have to actually squeeze the "jaws" together to actally get it off of either Dukes or Victor 330's. Have tried grinding a bit off both sides but that still doesn't change anything. Any ideas? It's the first time tried one.

I've never used one. I think they'd give you a false sense of security and you'd get nailed when it failed or you forget to use it. I do use Belisles though mostly so I feel pretty safe the safeties will catch it, as removing them is the last thing do. (unless I forget frown )

I'll third the safety pin. One of my top three tools on the beaver line along with my locking setters and my trusty tater rake.

'nother thing about the safety pin is that it fits on belisles. The regular safety tools do not, at least not on the top/bottom jaws. They can go on the sides but that gets dicey.

&#128513 means buying other stuff there! Like a kid in a candy store. Did go down and get one (works great) and combined it with geocaching so worked out for both.

Pretty sure it's an emoji that isn't rendering the way mine does when people try to quote me

Keep your hands on the springs and out of the jaw space and you don't need all these safety gimmicks.
