this year have coyotes walk right by sets like the wernt there just wondering if bait and lure are freezing how much you guys use in winter lure and bait wise

That's what coyotes do. That lure and bait even If It was frozen still has an odor to It.

Coyotes and wolves are finicky and tempermental. They may totally ignore your set like it isn't there when they can smell it just fine, and next time through they may or may not work it.

Question though, have you trapped these areas in the past using the same lures? Sometimes they get a little lure/trap wise and switching up lures to something you haven't used before helps.

Ha ha yea it’s not the beginning of season anymore, coyote can smell it but you can’t make them work it . You can have this happen any time of year but I see it more in late season . If freezing temperatures was an issue our cousins up in Canada and Alaska would only be able to trap in summer. Try a bait that you have not used this year or switch to flat sets with urine and gland lure .
