I have had good luck with them. Had a hat made and a number of furs tanned. They have done good for me. Thank You for the reply! Was it recently that you had the work done by them?

A few years back on here you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting someone that was VERY upset with them.I never dealt with them and won't because of this. Yep! Especially with at least six other reputable Tanneries that many of us have used as well as about half a dozen other places that make products with our fur.

I live in Duluth and have used USAFOXX for numerous hats and beaver choppers and my buddy had a beaver blanket made with coyote trim. Their workmanship is absolutely excellent. I think most of the problems were as a result of the previous owner having very poor quality control of fur as it came in and I don't think he cared. He lost a bundle of my fur and some I didn't get back so he just traded me some of his fur instead, which I was not happy about but I knew I wasn't ever getting my own fur back. If it wasn't for the new owners I would have reservations but the two brothers who bought the business are doing a excellent job and I am about ready to have them make me another beaver hat. Gary J edit I don't think they tan anything in house, it's all sent out to various tanneries. I've had them send some out to tanneries and I've also brought in my tanned fur that I had tanned at Moyles in Idaho. The advantage for me is if I just drive to their store, I don't have to pay shipping charges both ways sending to a tannery myself. Gary J

It would be best if you checked out who owns and operates the company now and who owned it years ago. To give a bad rap to someone that had nothing to do with the problems ,just isn't right. Stop and think,if it was your business would you want to suffer for what someone else did--years ago? Tom

They did good for me. Maybe a bit slow, but, excellent work, that's held up for work.

Wayne's crew did a terrible job keeping people's fur straight. I dont know who Wayne is but the badger I sent was valuable on the fur market. I suspect it was sold. Either after it was turned into a hat to be peddled at a "mountain man rendezvous" or something, or put in the fur pipeline. Good badgers always have value even when nothing else does. If honest people own that company now I have to wonder how they got mixed up with the crooks. Birds of a feather flock together. I don't flock with that sort.

If I had read yall's horror stories before he had this done I would have waved him off. Prolly not much risk in sending fur from south Alabama though.

Danny,Wayne was the previous owner and sold the business to those that have now owned it for the last few years; How can you paint them with the same brush--because they bought the business??? Sounds like---Guilty,till proven innocent. I was under the impression we didn't operate that way. Go by what was said by those that have recently done business there, not by what you went through years ago with the previous owner. Tom

Anyone have recommendations on other places that make stuff with your pelts? Was going to use usafoxx but not so sure now. Would like to look at alternatives. Sleepy Creek Tannery www.sleepycreektannery.com has someone who sews for them. I had a VERY nice pair of almost black beaver mittens made through them for my wife, and a buddy got a fisher hat* made that turned out terrific .... its my only experiences with having garments made. * A little story on that hat. The fellow I mentioned had bought a fisher hat at auction at one of the conventions. (I'm sure he over paid for it, as he's a big supporter of trapping organizations.) He put the hat in his truck and some jackwad stole it out of his truck at the convention. He told us the story on Iowa Trappers Talk, so to restore a little faith in his fellow trappers we at ITT got in touch with Ben from Sleepy Creek Tannery, and he agreed to make us a wonderful fisher hat to replace the stolen one, and for a great discounted price. There was a frog in the throat of the fella when he received the hat. Wonderful folks to deal with there.

I sent 6 beaver to USA foxx on March 17th 2020.They never contacted me as of now.I have called and talked to them 3 times and they always acknowledged receiving hides and promised to send me a bill.I think at this point the hides are probably freezer burned junk and I’m better off aborting mission. A year isn't out of the question.

Good Luck , alot of trappers have been screwed by USA FOX by original owners and new owners. A shame as alot of furs are first time trapped furbearers for new trappers

In the past they had a terrible reputation. However, it sounds like they may have changed for the better. That's great. But, they send your skin out to be tanned elsewhere. I don't get the logic of sending skins out to get tanned, to a middle man, who then sends them to a tannery, when I could just send them directly to the tannery myself? And at less cost and a faster turnaround time.

I'm interested in hearing opinions from anyone who has used USA Foxx to have fur products made from their furs. What did you think of their fur products and customer service? Am thinking of sending some furs their to have some things made. Thank You! I have had from them made a coon hat and tanned some muskrats. Both were very well done but took a long time to get back.

Two snafu's with them, a black 4X coon and a December red w/white tipped tail. Received two completely different pelts when they were finally done. Never again.

Moyle for tanning though their prices have soared
Glacier Wear for hats etc - excellent work and good price

I don't know anything about today's USA Foxx but twenty years ago they sucked. Damaged furs, missing furs and getting someone else's fur back was common. I found out too late that they don't do their own tanning, they are not a tannery. they farm everything out.
They are the reason I started tanning my own furs.
Eh...wot?
