If heat rendering fats, such as chicken, pork or beef, should a preservative be added to the oil? Sodium Benzoate?

Thanks

If a oil is pure you should not need any preserving at least with skunk and badger oils, SB will not mix well with either oils, other oils I have not worked with yet. You will find skunk fat if pure can be kept at room temps for very long periods of time.

When I render my fats I pour them hot into a canning jars screw on the lid and they vacuum seal themselves. No preservatives needed
