I’ve come to the conclusion that everybody that has posted is in agreement the country needs to be saved, just not the manner required to save it.
That is a problem when those destroying it are in agreement with how to do that.
Yes they have numbers and we need numbers too. A person standing and saying I won't give up my arms doesn't mean much to politicians. They are interested in numbers and if you can and will vote as a block. Then we can save our rights and maybe expand some.
So if it's not the NRA then it needs to be something just like it and it needs to have our whole side support it.
Well I renewed my NRA membership, my wife said, is nothing better than the NRA, I said I don't think so because they have been around a long time. At the same time I renewed my GOA. IF you want to see an organization that is working hard look at the Virginia Citizens Defense League. I have no problem with the GOA and the VCDL.

After the last election I I don't believe the numbers at the polls matter any more. They seem to pay attention to numbers knocking on their door though.
The thought of all those angry peasants being armed though really makes them nervous. Better get rid of those peasants arms if you want total control.

How much time does the NRA waste trying to keep it legal for you gun nuts to be able to own military looking weapons. A lot. I see the need for semi-auto guns, but I don't need for them to look like military weapons. Does it matter if they look like military weapons, no. If they make nonsense laws saying they can't look like military weapons, do I care: not really. As long as they don't make semi-autos illegal, I don't care if they make it illegal for them to be black, or no pistol grip, or 30 round magazine. This where the NRA represents you, not me.

I’m not certain it’s just numbers. With so much corruption in that arena it seems probably that money greases some wheels and I despise the thought of paying a ransom for something guaranteed for free.
They seem to be chasing republicans, show me where “you”/“them” have found some on the other side that understand the constitution and support them putting the gun owners in a no lose situation.
Thank you, Sir. I wish there were more good men like you.

Personally, I think Trump and the NRA did as well as could be expected after our largest killing in history.
They fought off both democrats AND RHINO's wanting any number of gun laws with only losing bump stocks. Remember, there are 535 members of congress being fought.
God forbid another shooting, but should one happen again the way congress is, no one will stop new laws.
I understand bump stocks fell on the sword. It also was done incorrectly. It should have gone through Congress to change the definition of MG. Not executive order banning a firearm accessory that meets the letter of the law. Now we are in for it.
There will be another shooting or several. Watch closely for the organized narrative that comes out. White, Christian, Trump, racist, NRA... The details will be suspect and the opposite of what's reported. It will almost looked planned to push the gun control agenda and make that freedom loving group enemy #1. I'm surprised it hasn't been implemented yet.
Your probably right about how it was done, but it did one very important thing....ended the call to ban semis, mags over ten rounds, the red flag law, gun registration and gun show loopholes. Most of those things were in the Manchin-Toomey bill which had lots of support in congress.
Not a word about gun control (the rest of Trumps term) after the bump stock ban until now that the dems have control.

I can hear ya in the future, it will go like this..............
The Dems will introduce a bill that goes after 5-6 gun rights. The NRA will be the only group there fighting for us but will get the Dems to drop only 3 of the parts. The next day, you'll blame the NRA for "compromising".
Boy! Did you get that right! I agree with you 100%. Bump stocks was a perfect example.
If someone tears down the American flag and puts another flag in its place, that person should get a free, mandatory one way trip to that country.

Politicians are always concerned about getting re-elected. Individuals making a stand against gun control is good. It does not carry the weight of millions of people that support gun rights standing together saying to we will not give up our second amendment rights. Also, if anybody votes to restrict them will be voted out of office.
The NRA is the organization that we have looked to in the past to support us. It's unfortunate that they are having problems right when we need them the most.
We either stand together or we will lose our rights one by one.

Honest question. What did that accomplish? All I see is set bad example and delay the calls for restrictions for 3 years. As you pointed out now they have complete control.
At least back then there was a chance to fight it. At the least it would have put all the politicians on record how they voted.
It's why we need our National and state trapping organizations. If we try to get our agenda done by ourselves it won't work. But, if thousands to millions of people want something they will get their politicians attention.
This isn't some thing that is hypothetical that we discuss but may never happen. They are coming as soon as they can get organized. We had better do the same.
