In Michigan, our DNR would surely turn a wolf hunt into a money making scheme of the first order. Tags would exceed $500 each I bet.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

I wouldn't get the rifles out just yet. I'll lay some coin the Sleepy Joe's DoI Acting Sec will sue in some friendly fed court for some reason or another. Too many Blue boys and girls that think wolves are just too cute to whack.

They need a trapping season. Last time this happened in Michigan, they pulled the trapping season and decided to just have a hunting season. Where I hunt deer in the up, there were more wolves the next year after the little hunt they ran.

Can just imagine the $$$$ for at best a 10??? day season. WIDNR always looking for more money. Perhaps they should get the long term, dead weight out of management ... the ones that didn't preplan for a wolf season when it was known delisting was coming last year.

That is good I hope it happens. The only good wolf is a dead one!
I just got off the phone with a good friend that lives at 7500 feet in the NW part of the state. The wolfs have just taken over in his area. Moose and deer he use to see daily, now if he see a moose once a year he is very lucky. Wuff tracks are in any direction from his cabin on any given day. He has sent pictures of wolf kills and they eat everything. It does sound like MT are in talks also about extending trapping on them and may have them classified as a predator. DNR wants to charge more for a package hunt and include a wuff. I'm not totally sure on all of those details with DNR and state legislation but as least they are talking.
Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

easiest way to accomplish it would be a short season and all you need is a small game or trapping license what ever you can get by 00:00 hours March 1
then they can do a count and see if they need a quota for the 2021-2022 season

I wouldn't want to see all wolves eliminated. But, it's only good conservation to manage their numbers by hunting and trapping.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

But, it's only good conservation to manage their numbers by hunting and trapping. we could wipe out the Wisconsin packs and in 8 years have more than we do today with all of them coming from MN and MI however the packs will definitely not be wiped out in 15 days even if every guy with a rifle took off the rest of the month and hunted them.
