My 3# hammer is my tension tester, lol. Just about the time I release the head it fires. Figure I’m right at the 3# mark.

I worked on all my hrs tonight. Have the all between 3 and 3 1/2. I started by adjusting the pan and moving it a little closer to the loose jaw. That worked on all but two. The last two I sanded some of the coating off of the night latch. That got them down around 5 lbs. then I used bow string wax and they both pop at 2 1/2. Tightened up the pan bolt and have them just over 3. Took 30 minutes to do 10 traps b

I have 12 dozen jrs. Two coil offset jaw and laminated. All I do is power wash and wax em. I haven’t changed one thing to the adjustment of the pan tension. They work just fine the way they came from Kendal. I’ve caught 247 fox and 38 coyotes the last two years in these traps. I just don’t get all this talk about the pan tension on these traps. I love em just the way they are.

My dozen were all pretty good. Probably would have been fine just waxing them. Just twp of them was real tough. When first setting them and moving to the night latch was super tough. The coating was super coarse on the tab. After sanding it smooth but not even taking it off reduced that issue a huge amount.

You got a lot of fox in ur area. Good to hear. You hear a lot on here that there is not many fox around. I love catching fox. Love the smell when you pull up to a big red in a catch circle b

Like any other coilspring, I believe 4 coils make quite a bit of difference over 2 coils.
