Just wandering how long you guys that had covid lost your taste and smell for? My brother had covid two months ago and he still can't taste his food, and my dad had it the same time and only lost his for 3 days. I'm on day 3 now and I literally stuck my nose in a jar of long distance lure with a lot of skunk and I couldn't get the faintest of smell

Never lost either one. I'd say it was muted, never gone

What was your symptoms headache73? Mine started out with diarrhea and the second day I threw up twice and just felt weak, then day 3 started running a fever and still had diarrhea some but not bad. Fever lasted 3 days then my taste and smell left but feel pretty good other than that

I came down with co vid around the 15th or 20th of November. I have gotten most of my taste back but still am not anywhere near normal on my smelling. Maybe 40%.... unless what ever I am smelling is right under my nose.

3 weeks and counting now...taste is distorted. Can taste sweet, and the salty taste has gone, but still no smell. I got to be careful using lure, lol. My wife has her sense of smell coming and going. One day she thinks she’s fine, the next she can’t smell anything. Hoping I get that way eventually. Like you I stuck my nose to some Gusto and could feel my nose hairs twitching but couldn’t smell anything. The only way I know I’ve eaten anything “spicy hot” is when I go to the bathroom the next day, lol!

I think I had It but never lost any sense of taste or smell. I just got my second shot on Thursday with no issues.

I never lost mine, but everything tasted and smelled really different (terrible). I could hardly even look at food; they called it "food aversion". Went away and back to normal as fast as it started, about 10 days from beginning to end. It is a really weird ailment, I've had worst colds and flues by far, but nothing that has had as many strange effects. I think this "virus" was created, it sure didn't seem natural.
I have a friend who barley had any symptoms other than a headache for a few days, but he completely lost his sense of taste and smell for nearly two months, he's is slowly getting it back, it's been five months.

I completely lost mine for about a month, it’s maybe 50% now at about 2 months or more. It sucks.

Took around a month for my smell/taste to come back.

My wife and I both had it. Took about 3 weeks to get everything back.
My brother had it and after 2.5 months no smell or taste. He did the finger snap as shown in the link below and swears that 2 hours later it was all back.

I would say it's worth a shot.

hardly any symptoms at all.

totally lost mine on November 12. prolly have about 75% mine back.

I came down with symptoms on the 13th of January. Lost taste and smell two days later. Over a month later, taste might be 50%, and smell is still gone unless I put something directly under my nose, like ground cinnamon or fresh coffee grounds. Unfortunately, my wife came down with it at the same time. She lost taste and smell also, but had both back in about three weeks.

From patients I’ve seen that have had it the answer is: It’s different for everyone. Pretty much the same as the symptoms and severity. I can’t say I’ve seen two cases that were the same.

a cousin had it no sniffer or taste for 2 weeks.

Day 20 of symptoms today for me and I have about 60% of smell and taste back. The wife is on Day 18 and has about 25% of smell and taste.

Never lost taste, smells been gone about 2 months now. We got it a week before Christmas, a very mild case for me. I put a bottle of Gusto under my nose.... nothing. Can only smell the coffee if I put my nose right in the can.
