The black hole trap would be an awesome choice for trapping since you can turn a cheap trap into a dogproof i wish i could find some for sale

be very careful!!! DO NOT ask me how I know this, but if you make a tiny little mistake your fingers will be mushed between the underside of the jaws and the black hole. A lot worse than just getting your fingers caught in a standard coilspring.

Never would have thought of that. Maybe a screwdriver bent at the tip to 90° might lift the trigger without risking the fingers.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

that's 1 of the catalogs I urged you to get many weeks ago. Now you understand why 10-12 catalogs is needed on your desk, since no one carries everything, and you have all that info on hand.

Save your coils for locations and sets where coils are needed, and buys DPs for locations where DPs are needed.
The black hole is not something I'd personally ever use again. PM me if questions.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

There’s a lot of work replacing the trap pan with the black hole. Then you have to adjust the dog on every trap. The trap must be anchored SOLID or the coon will simply tip it over and eat the bait and be gone.

If you have extra traps to play with I guess you can but a dog proof does a better job with less work.
But then I look over on Trap Shed and you want to trade your duke 1 1/2 off????

My advice for what it’s worth, find what works for you and how you want to trap, then make your adjustments. To be a success at anything you have to stick to your plan and adjust accordingly. No since in re-inventing the wheel.

But those you already own would be fine if you wanted to try the black hole.
