I gave some cats and otters to a friend who had them make this bear for his daughter and jacket for his wife. He bought the cat for the jacket from them. Mine aren't that nice. frown

If I had read yall's horror stories before he had this done I would have waved him off. Prolly not much risk in sending fur from south Alabama though.

Anyone have recommendations on other places that make stuff with your pelts? Was going to use usafoxx but not so sure now. Would like to look at alternatives.

If I bought or took over a business with a crappy reputation, I'd take John Taffer's advice and change the name and entire look of the business. You'll never get over the stigma, especially in this day and age with instant reviews.

We don't have armadillos to swing here.

Danny,Wayne was the previous owner and sold the business to those that have now owned it for the last few years;
How can you paint them with the same brush--because they bought the business??? Sounds like---Guilty,till proven innocent. I was under the impression we didn't operate that way.
Go by what was said by those that have recently done business there,not by what you went through years ago with the previous owner.

Sleepy Creek Tannery www.sleepycreektannery.com has someone who sews for them. I had a VERY nice pair of almost black beaver mittens made through them for my wife, and a buddy got a fisher hat* made that turned out terrific .... its my only experiences with having garments made.

* A little story on that hat. The fellow I mentioned had bought a fisher hat at auction at one of the conventions. (I'm sure he over paid for it, as he's a big supporter of trapping organizations.) He put the hat in his truck and some jackwad stole it out of his truck at the convention. He told us the story on Iowa Trappers Talk, so to restore a little faith in his fellow trappers we at ITT got in touch with Ben from Sleepy Creek Tannery, and he agreed to make us a wonderful fisher hat to replace the stolen one, and for a great discounted price. There was a frog in the throat of the fella when he received the hat. wink Wonderful folks to deal with there.

Thank You for the additional comments and info! Nessmuck and ABeardedTrapper , were the items you guys had made done in recent years?

bob maier, Thanks for posting another place to have fur products made. I'll have to take a look at Fur Arts. I think the forum could use a list of places/links in a pinned thread that make fur products for anyone looking for place to have something made from their furs. smile

I sent 6 beaver to USA foxx on March 17th 2020.They never contacted me as of now.I have called and talked to them 3 times and they always acknowledged receiving hides and promised to send me a bill.I think at this point the hides are probably freezer burned junk and I’m better off aborting mission.
