I broke down and purchased a new snowmachine this season, didn't want to be stranded by my old one (5000 mi.). The new ski-doo tundra with the 600 efi 2-stroke is awesome. Great sled for the money, no worries can go anywhere type of sled. Not trying to boast as this is the first new sled I've bought, but this thing should last a very long time. I've even ridden it for fun in the mountains, will do it all.

That's a good motor but I'm partial to the four stroke myself. I know a couple guys who have the etec, plus I've used one in a SWT Skandic while in Wyoming. Good motor that gets as good gas mileage as the four stroke, and has more power than the 600 ACE, but it will overheat when running it on ice and bare ground. Especially in warmer temps. Even had the Skandic doing it Wyoming, and it has a small radiator and fan, unlike the Tundra. If you do have problems with it overheating, pop the hood off and run it without the hood in those conditions and it doesn't seem to overheat. But I've not seen any issues with the ACE motors overheating, and they are way quieter.

Whatever choose the Etec or the ACE, the 550 fan is a good motor. . . if you own stock in Exxon. I've ran one of them some, but if snow conditions are bad or especially breaking trail you can't carry enough gas for a long day. I've went through a tank and 12 1/2 gallons of spare gas before and barely made it to the pickup without covering all the ground I wanted to in a day.

This sled has the tunnel cooler and a radiator and fan set up, even on hardpack the engine temp has never gone over 130 deg.

Good deal, I haven't been around a Tundra with that motor made in the last 3 or 4 years. Always wondered why they didn't put a radiator and fan in them.
