I have some #3 and #4 Victor jumps. The 3's have cast jaws and the fours have regular jaws. Figure I'd convert them and actually use them. I have plenty of good traps I can use but I am looking for a project to do. For those of you that have done this which #number PIT pan would fit best

The #3’s are easily done. The #1 kit has smaller pans but is the same otherwise as the #2 kit. The #2 kit, I believe, is the large pan kit for 3 and 4 victor longs. That’s the one I use. It will work on a 3 jump. You will have to trim the bracket some so it fits between the trap spring and the hump on the cross piece.
The bracket also fits #4 without trimming, but the pan will be off center towards the dog a bit on a 4 jump. Doable, but if you want it centered, you need to get the 2 5/8” longer dog with the pans, and weld the bracket in the hump on the frame where the old pan was attached. I actually weld a piece of brake line in the hump for a bushing instead. The pan will be perfectly centered then. I’m not a great welder and brake line is thin. I found it difficult at first, but I got better at it.
PIT pans turn them into a decent trap. I just did a bunch of them 2 weeks ago.

Thanks bhugo I've seen some pics with the larger pan and they looked nice. This will make a nice project for me. My welding skills are not top notch but practice will only make them better.
