I know this is a stupid question. where does the hump on the dog go? Under the pan or behind it? Never used this kind of pan before and i dont think i am going to like it. I am guessing it goes behind the pan kinda like nightlacthing but there is only about 1 / 32 of an inch of dog left and it barely catches the pan'. My bridger 1 coils seem stronger and better built then the 1.5s

You are correct it's a type of night latch. Its designed so when its set it takes away any pan slop and the trap will fire with little movement of the pan. Its not for everyone but some people really like it. IMO it works best with a couple pounds of pan tension.

Very little of the dog left after the hump, Is this normal ?, Seems like only about 1/32 of an inch.

File yourself a little more room onto the top of the dog..into the "hump." That "hump" is big enough to take a little off if you want more dog-pan contact.

Yes that’s normal, if you’re having problems with them dry firing you can take a file and square up the seat a little bit. Basically lay the dog on a flat surface and file back into the hump. Don’t do to much at once

The Bridger 1.75 uses the same type dog. I use 1.75s and I like that type dog. I do file them like Swamp Wolf said.

1/32" of dog contact is normally more than enough in my experience. Are you having issues with it firing when you pull it down over the hump? You very likely know this already, but when pulling a pan down into a night latch, instead of just pulling it down with your thumb, place your index finger under the pan, thus giving it support from beneath. Done this way, and with your middle finger underneath and gripping the frame, it gives complete steady control of pan travel, allowing you to set a hair trigger like a boss.

Its normal just use it like a night latch and the bumps to night latch it and keep the pan from moving much when firing so the animal doesnt feel movement when he puts his foot down thats why there like that

I like them for land critter but hate using them for mink and muskrat as I don't want any pan tension for the mink and muskrat.

The bridger 1.5 traps a good trap for fox and bobcat and fisher if you baseplate them and keep extra dogs and pans with you incase you get one messes up
