If you have nice size prime eastern beaver well put up you will get way more money for them at the auction in N Bay than from any private buyer-unless you are selling tanned beaver to a manufacturer.

What's way more money? $10.00 instead of $8.00. Then you have to figure In the price per pelt charge and the commission. So all of a sudden It's not way more money. And In some cases the local buyer Is paying $8.00 for green skinned pelts. You have to take Into consideration your time spent putting up those $10.00 and $12.00 beaver.

Well fellas, I'm still at it. I had 3 more beavers to do and I put them all up today. That makes 6 for the year and that may just be it, we'll see. Any guesses how long it took me? Hint- A long time! Here's some pictures of two of the ones I did today. One on the left was on a drowner that he drug up, so his head was a little more difficult to flesh. I think I'm getting better though. Boco, I trimmed off the lips and nose to try it out.

I wanted to say thanks for each of you providing tips and feedback, I've been experimenting with all of the things you have passed along. [Linked Image]

Yes they look very good.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Quite an improvement from the first one too. Probably a good thing you took the advice on the trimming from Boco too. Nice job!

That's not my tip. Selling to a fuybuyer is also pretty much a money loser too. Here it is less of money loser. smile
