That's some good information! Thank you.

I'm planning on doing some scouting this weekend. Put some skunk lure in a tree and hang some cameras to try and find a good area.

I found a lot of good fisher areas while spring turkey hunting. I have used a trail camera too...

Didn’t you already have a thread about fisher? Or is this the same thread?

I have caught a few fisher with #2 coils in coyote sets back in the timber. The trap worked fine. I don't think I would go bigger then that for sure.

I'm a novice to Fisher trapping... but while turkey hunting I have had a few Fisher come bee-bopping through and make a mental note, where and what's the surrounding area looks like. I have found an edge, dark woods and light woods, with a lot of down stuff is good. There is also beaver ponds, stonewalls and streams. Where an area where a combination of these areas come together or the terrain creates a funnel, it should be a good area to investigate. I especially like to have a beaver pond near by, it seems to attract them? Incidental catches can be good areas too. As far as traps, more traps set, more opportunities...
Remember, just a newbie's opinion.
