Ok, so this is not trapping related at all but in school I'm kinda studying perception. Such as color is our perception of the reflection of the suns light. Or that a tree is simply a tree because of how we perceive it, for instance a man would not be wrong to say that a tree is actually a bookcase lacking form because that's how he perceived it. Obviously this is over simplied, but I think it should get the point across. Like the word cat, means a small mammal to you, but to a French men who speaks no English it means nothing because of how he perceives it. Ig idk, its making my head swim, but in this study I'm reading they are making the point that the characters in a book are what they are because of how they are perceived, and when we close the cover of a book and forget the characters they cease to exist. Someone else who's read the book will have the characters in their mind, but they aren't the same, they're perceived differently. And this thing is saying that reality is a sham, its not real. Its perceived. Anyway there isn't really a point to this post my head was just swimming and it helps to type it out.

In books I always assign voices to the characters as well as how I think they would look. This is why when se see movies made of books we read they never meet our expectations.
Dances with Wolves is the closest a movie came to matching my vision as I read it

Sign yourself up for a good wood shop or auto mechanics class. Dont waste the precious time you get in public school. It will soon be over and you will have to pay for knowledge you could have gotten on the taxpayer dime.

Yup teach someone perception is the only truth and reality is a farce. It makes it easy to see why you can't argue your point anymore. "My perception is reality"... sorry but no. The tree is a tree cause that's what it is. Add some labor and trade that labor for more labor and that tree could be a bookshelf but in reality it's only a tree right now. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. -William Shakespeare Doesn't really matter the language a cat is a cat. The word cat may not have meaning to a Frenchman but he would know a cat if he saw one. The characters in the book will always be in the book and they are imagined by the reader. That is the whole point of book clubs. To discuss each other's perceptions of the book. Sounds like the paper you are reading may be trying to lead you down false paths based on an incomplete understanding of the world or limited knowledge of reality. But that's just my perception.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Faces or Vase? Can be both. It's trick played on the eyes and mind, not perception. No, it is what the viewer perceives in their thought process. That's where the "minds eye" confusion plays in.

The you have it, confusion not perception. You are proving my point. Your perception of the picture and scenario is different than mine. Ergo, perception of thought by the viewer. :-)
