I'm curious if anyone has experience stabilizing body grippers inside of rat houses or feeder huts?? Keeping the trap stable so it functions correctly and keeping the rat from knocking the trap over are the two issues that I see in this situation. Have thought about adding some type of a rod to the hinge side opposite of the spring to pin the trap in place.

Would appreciate any insights.

I have added long bolts to replace the rivet opposite the spring. It works great in many circumstances but I never trapped in a rat house. It’s not legal in Michigan.

Did a few of these 110s the other day for bottom edge sets. Have not tried them in rat houses. Don't have many rat houses in my area and am not sure if that is legal in this state. [Linked Image]

Even though the stabilizers I make work OK inside houses BG's don't catch near as many as footholds unfortunately. I use BG's outside over entrances before the ice get thick.

agreed, a low percentage set, so Torch, you are reducing your success odds from the start, BUT body grips shine in runs and bank den sets.

I used to set a 110 or 160 at bank den, then 8-12" out, a colony trap, grassed over, in their run.

Then, rat stools in deeper water baited with parsnip quarters and carrot strips.
