The best time to buy a new gun is every time you get a chance to buy a new gun. One of the best quotes of the year!

rough on foxes? is that a joke? what are you loading it with? Didn’t matter what it was loaded with. The 40 gr ballistic tip, 45 gr Sierra hornet bullet, 35 gr v-max. All of them would turn a fox into something the required a seamstress to take a look at. Now, it was run fairly hard but it still did more damage to foxes than I’d liked. Pretty much stuff to rimfire for foxes if we were planning to skin them after that.
I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I used the same bullet in mine but paired up with lil'gun. Dime size groups at 100 yds. Was not effective on yotes with frontal chest shots.

I have a .218 Bee, that is in the same class as the hornet that runs a 35gr VMax at right around 3000 fps. With Lil Gun it is at a modest pressure that a Winchester 43 handles well. Works well on coyotes. Haven’t had an opportunity at a fox. Not many around here.

Was not effective on yotes with frontal chest shots. Yepper Coyotes are tough. Can run a long ways hit pretty hard. I dont shoot at them unless they are within 100 yards and Im confident I won't miss a heart or head shot. Is what I wrote. Through the side, into the heart, not through the front of the chest. If looking straight at you, a bullet straight into the windpipe and into the spine works real good if its head is up. If the head is down, just below and in the middle of the ears is good. I only shoot coyotes with my hornet when I am very confident of bullet placement. Great fox bobcat badger round though.

Big step up from a 22 Hornet.
