Two pieces of 1/2 by 4" flat iron with holes drilled in each end. sandwitch the tongue between the flats and bolt it down tight. . Pin the 'clevis' it forms to your bumper. Charlie

Pintle hitch. Since you’re only going a couple miles do as others have said remove the ball from your receiver hitch and get a stout bolt or clevis and take it EASY.

Hitch pin through a receiver hitch. We've pulled wagons and farm implements around for years that way.
It is what it is.

I'm with Charlie. With a clevis type rig you'd be less apt to bind up turning or going thru a draw

Fresh out of the city or what? Big bolt or hitch pin if you have one My splitter has a regular ball hitch, you can pull it down the road but I load it on the utility trailer if I need to take it anywhere
