I got a call from a guy and he says he may have a beaver problem What, may have a problem, they have a lodge on his pontoon boat and have collapsed the deck and rear of the pontoons. He says they moved in last spring, so they have been the proverbial busy beavers. They have also raised the pond dam 15 to 18". So I set on saturday, 4 330's and the balance in snares. I love snares, easy, light weight and nothing compares to catching in the snares you made.

I made the first check this AM. I caught 4, a massive pregnant female, her mate a big male, and 2 one year olds. I caught the female in a 330, and other 3 in snares.

These beaver are even using old dock materials from a dock that is falling apart. I was making a dam break yesterday and found a 4x4 post a foot under mud. [img]http://[/img]

There aren’t many pictures that define nuisance wildlife quite as well as a pontoon that has been taken over by beavers.

On this mornings check I snared two more. Both were snared in the same sets as yesterday, and you can smell the castor when you are 10 feet from the set. Both looked like 1 year olds.

No catches today, but the dam break was repaired. I shifted a couple of 330's to the dam and added 3 snares on the dam and made a dam break set.

I caught another 1 year old on a double dam break this am. I remade the set, hopefully that was the last one....for a total of 7.

No beavers this am, dam break still open. I had a big snapper plugging a 330, man I hate dealing with those ill tempered things.

I made multiple dam breaks yesterday and none were repaired. I am calling it done with a total of 7, pulled remaining sets this am.
