Hey guys! We need a new thread. What’s your favorite traps, favorite sets, and favorite animals to catch?
I’ll start. My favorite thing to trap is probably beaver. My favorite traps are either belisle 330s, or bridger 5s. My favorite sets are probably castor mounds, and channel sets.

My second favorite thing to trap is probably coyotes. I love my MB 450s and 550s. My favorite sets for them are dirt holes. What about you guys?

Ave don't go where the beaver don't flow

I can't say I have a favorite trap but I'll have to agree with trapping beaver as a favorite. I like trapping beaver because you almost always know where they are going (through channels or around houses). My second favorite part about trapping beaver is being able to skin them. I think it's super cool to be that close to the animal and really get to know what they look like.

I've never caught a coyote but would love to learn and expand on that part of trapping. I tried some dirt holes for fox last season.

You can't go wrong with being outdoors.

I think I like muskrat the most, but in my limited experience I've noticed a lot of muskrat habits apply to beavers. I think of beavers as just smarter bigger muskrats. For my favorite trap it has to be the Victor #3 long spring or just any long spring traps.

Coyotes are my favorite! I love my Duke 550s, Wolf Creek #3 dogless, and my Sleepy Creek #1.75 offsets are pure awesome. 2-scat is my favorite!
Thanks for a trapping thread, Ave!

My favorite trap is easily the #1 coilspring. I love trapping muskrat and mink. My favorite set has to be a toilet set for muskrat and for mink, a pocket set near where I’ve seen mink sign.

I like wolf creek dog proofs on trails for coons and any #1 longspring on a scent mound set for muskrats
