To do it right, you have to have someone there that keeps repeating "choot'em! Choot'em!!"
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

And how about all the water back splashing from a .22 or .22 mag going through a gator's melon...? Seems excessive but this is tv. Do you expect "reality"?

Has anyone shot an alligator with a .22 rifle? Do they die immediately as on TV? Seems like a primitive reptile would have muscle activity for a long time like a snake will. Thats why those jaws are taped shut and legs cinched together even after the bullet to the cranial vault.

The only ones I can vouch for, a 10 footer with a .270 to the side of the head, instant death, never moved. A 12 + foot with 12 ga.. 00 buck between the eyeballs off the airboat, grave yard dead and never kicked, he was sunning on the bank and stayed put right there. More smaller ones than I can remember with a ,22 Long Rifle, every Sunday afternoon was Gator hunting day. Most shots had good results, but these were smaller eating size Gators, 4-5 foot and shot from the bank while swimming. All were shot in the head, then someone would wade or swim in and grab them before they sank to the bottom. Only remember two coming back to life and being an issue, where someone got bit while grabbing them, a 4 footer and a 6 footer.. (Or so I was told about these stories).

I've got a 10 footer that took two shots with a .243 before it would come quietly.
Hiding our humane dispatches doesn't keep the Antis from showing their own gruesome ones. In this 1 sided story, who will the public believe, then?
