I like gamefowl. I think they're beautiful, easy to keep and smart chickens. I like the fact they set and brood well. I've raised a lot of gamefowl and Indian Asils. I never fought mine. I sold all of mine a few years ago. The problem I ran into is that most of the people who wanted to buy them were very clear that they wanted to fight them. I have nothing against someone fighting their roosters. I think it's stupid that it's illegal. I could never find a good answer on if I had any sort of liability for selling to someone who wanted to fight them, so I chose not too. Most of the market for gamefowl is Hispanic, Malaysian, Filipino, Indian and good old Hillbilly.
I was at a guy's farm Monday, who was setting up 40 barrels with stags. I wish he wasn't doing it because I buy a huge amount of rabbit and other animals to make pet food out of from him and he's probably bound to get in trouble with the stags.
I recommend knowing your laws and avoiding doing anything with gamefowl, that even has the semblance of being illegal. People talk to much.

What worried me was that many people, who I just met, wanting to purchase the gamefowl I was selling, would tell me they intended to fight them. Fighting gamefowl does not bother me at all, except for the legality. From my reading of the laws, once I knew what they wanted the gamefowl for, it was likely illegal for me to sell them roosters. Does anyone know definitely?
I've run into a similar issue with people buying goats milk, which I can legally only sell for other uses than human consumption. Once someone tells me they intend to drink the milk, I can't legally sell it to them. People talk to much.

That's a fact Keith. I don't know why people want to talk so much about doing something illegal (even when it shouldn't be illegal. It's a liability issue for you. Just keep your trap shut about things that could get someone else in trouble. I think you could deny knowledge and be OK, unless someone recorded you. There's always that possibility.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

Just keep your trap shut about things that could get someone else in trouble. I think you could deny knowledge and be OK, unless someone recorded you. There's always that possibility. Being recorded selling to someone who says they were buying the gamefowl for fighting always worried me, so I would not sell to people who told me that. Most people told me that was why they wanted to buy them. I never asked why they wanted the game fowl or even hinted that I wanted to know. They would then get angry when I would not sell to them. I see absolutely no good reason to tell someone you just met, that you're going to comitt an illegal activity. I don't see a good reason to tell someone you've known for a very, very long time that you're going to commit an illegal activity, unless they absolutely need to know either. Keith
