I don't know if there's a market for the fur, but you could always tan it and use it for your own uses. In any case the meat is awesome, I'd eat every one you can get your hands on.

I have seen ground hog fur on fly tying web sites, not sure what they are looking for.

Their hide makes extremely tough leather and/or rawhide. Lots of muzzleloader shooting bags were made from woodchuck skins. Natives used the hide to make bowstrings.

I've tanned them before and they make good moccasin soles because the leather is very tough, i use egg tanning and it has worked for me for everything I've tried as long as you don't mind a smoke smell.

Used to be a brush hair market for them years ago, like badger hair brushes.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Groundhog fur to me is similar to a squirrel tail. If you know s fly tyer, they're worth a few bucks.

Grilled woodchuck back legs and sweet baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Now that's some good eating. Always taught kids to skin and flesh using woodchuck as it is very forgiving to work with

As a kid I used to catch them and sell the skins to company’s like Mepp’s, don’t know if they still buy them or not but used to get 3 dollars for them if they had the tail

Trapped and skinned a lot of them sold to several local fly tiers , one guy was shipping to india and sent flys back. Time of year matters, they aren't all #1's. We used a lot of borax on them, this was 30 years ago sold other animal parts to different people. A good friend of mine could sell anything that had been alive , he still sells "stuff"that most people throw away!

Here...this is me circa 1996 or 1997.
From right is 5 coon, 1 case skinned badger, 1 woodchuck, couple rats, and couple possums.
I used to get a couple bucks for woodchucks from our buyer at the time in fall. He always told me he had a paint brush (hair brush) market for those and for early fall badgers at that time.
Once it got cold the woodchucks denned up but a warm late fall I could catch a few and they paid as much as rats at that time, and same as possums. Looks like I had a couple blue coon in there.
I used coon dirthole sets with hawbakers coon lure that seemed to work on woodchucks.

Groundhogs have a nice fur in early spring when they first come out of hibernation. They go downhill really fast so the window to get a few nice pelts is small.
I have used nice groundhog fur in combination hats with red fox-makes a beautiful hat.
Like said the leather is very tough, and needs to be thinned in the neck/shoulder area as it is noticeably thicker there.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
