An acquaintance of mine and his wife came up to our place yesterday on two of these.
They weren't really necessary for the conditions, however they were sure impressive looking machines. I wouldn't want to get one stuck but they look like they plow through about anything considering they I have a 24 inch track.
Does anybody have any experience with these?

Yeah, friend of mine I guide for has a SWT 900 Ace and the other guy I guide for has a SWT 600 etec. I've used both. Great machine, with two downfalls, tippy on sidehills and in truck and fourwheeler ruts, and they are like a fat horse, you can end up bowlegged riding them. They have so much track they follow the contour of the snow and leaning to the side doesn't help cut the track in much, and the ski stance isn't much wider than the track. Real nice for fitting through tight spots and weaving amongst the trees, but I've thought that installing adjustable or offset skis like the Arctic Cat and the Expedition have could make them more stable. Riding sitting down doesn't bother me a bit, but if I am riding standing up I tend to ride with one knee on the seat because riding standing up straddling the seat is too wide to be comfortable for long periods of time. They are a tank and lay an awesome trail, and the 900 ACE gets great fuel mileage with a lot more power than the 600 ACE and much quieter without the overheating issues of the 600 Etec. Will probably be my next machine.

The outfitter I guide for has been using them since they first came out. Nothing beats them in deep snow, and they will pull a load through overflow most sleds wont get through empty. We were building a cabin a few years ago and I was using one to skid in trees I had fallen. Snow was 5-feet deep and I could skid 16 foot logs that were 18-20 inches at the butt, with ease.

Get yourself some wider skies it definetly helps them out.

I run one, best machine by far that I've owned. I studded my track and it will go about anywhere I point it.
