So I'm under my F=150 the other day and I see this pipe like device hanging on my exhaust pipe. It's about 8" long It's solid steel and hangs between the exhaust header and the muffler. And It's hanging free on the pipe. What Is It's purpose?

No It's a steel pipe looking thing and It's hung off off the exhaust pipe with a hanger. And It's heavy and looks to be solid.

2002 It's nothing but a rust bucket but It still runs good and doesn't use any oil. My running board or what ever you call It was loose and the racket was driving me crazy. So I got under there to try and replace the bolts. But there wasn't much left to bolt to so I found a good spot and used a C clamp to hold It In place. Ya got to do what you got to do.

LOL No bailing wire there? Don't let Pam see you using her coat hangers.
