I have a 0 jump that has what appears to be aluminum where the dog latches to the pan, it’s what the pan is riveted to also. Is this common? It was part of a collection, just wondering if that is why he collected it. Thanks[Linked Image]

Will a magnet stick to it?
It sure does look original to the trap to me. It looks to have been machine stamped, as opposed to handmade by a trapper, and the rivet looks right.

I read somewhere, that they galvanized the pan shanks to eliminate rusting of the shank and the post together, but I don't know for sure where I read it or what the time line was
