I have recently been seeing instances where animal shelters are jumping in line for ADC work not to get the work but in order to knock the ADC's out of work. Its looking more like they are wanting to hit the ADC operators in the pocket. I'm wondering if this is one of those moves by those who have a hate agenda? I don't even wanna mention the big P in here but we all know who I'm talking about. Many of these shelter workers are not ADC certified. They just jump in shouting ill get them and give them a new home. We all know that some animals can not be relocated and if they can, often relocation is a bad idea and stresses wildlife.

ADC certified? What does that mean?

I have never heard of an animal shelter doing ADC work, but how is it any different from any other competitor?

We've never been the least expensive option for any of our work. Don't chase the bottom, your experience is worth something. Do a better job than everybody else and charge a fair price for your work. I'm guessing this is ground trapping? I cant see the local shelter fixing a bat issue. Are they offering exclusion? Take pics and be proud of your work. Get reviews. Be more professional than they are.

Why wouldn't it be legal?

In Illinois, it is NOT legal for animal shelters to do any wildlife trapping.... unless they have a nuisance wildlife permit through IDNR. Same goes for cities and municipalities. Neither can deal with wildlife species, only domestics (cats and dogs). Our regional wildlife biologist will actively address any towns or cities that "loan out traps" to residents for wildlife issues.

You cannot remove problem wildlife without a trapping license. I have a hard time picturing Peta and humane society members learning how to trap coyotes with footholds so they can get their license!

Used to be in Georgia everyone who did nuisance had to get a commercial trapping and special permit. They've now created a municipal permit.

In WA you need to be able to prove the Problem exists.
A raccoon walking behind your house. Same coon (can I still say that) Making advance at you or to pet is fair game.

In NY we have a nuisance trapping license, but our companies arent certified. There are way more obstacles for pest control.

Anybody who wants to take a test can get 1 and renew it for $50 every year. They just started an online program that costs $200. Hardly a barrier to entry.

In Ohio you have to be certified, buy a nuicance control permit as well as a hunting and trapping permit.

Last fall I had a bat in the house call, At the time of the call, I had been working in an area with no cell service, So when I got to the voicemail, She told me that the local ASPCA had removed the bat. I called NYSDEC to see if this was legal, After leaving three messages with live people, Never got word back on it.
