Has anyone used it on land animals especially fisher? How about canines?

Most regard it as a great rat attractor. It’s very penetrating.

I have only used it for coons. Worked good for that.

Cherry essential oil of a good quality can add a nice sweet side odor to gland and food lures. Just enough to add a hint of presence. It also can carry primary odors much like skunk and civet musk essences.

I have noticed the same thing with cherry and skunk essence.

I bet it would be good for nutria. Around here, I've seen where nutria climbed a large leaning cherry tree and stripped all of the bark it could reach.
I used some cherry limbs for bodygrip supports and the nutria pilled the stakes and stripped the bark off of them!

I didn't know you had them in VA.

Cherry jello works great as an ingredient in my coon dp bait.

We are right behind Oregon and Louisiana in numbers. They don't survive very far inland as it gets too cold. They do well on the coast due to milder winters from the warming effect of the ocean.

Some synthetic cherry oil, ( WHICH MOST OF IT IS ) will dissolve skunk essence in lures
Be advised

Can't see its cold that limits coon number as they thrive here in MN. They just hole up for the winter longer.

Never acquired cherry OIL but use black cherry concentrate in several of my DIY lures with I feel good results. Many purified oils don't smell as you might expect.

I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

Coon duke,
Here in southeast NE we have coon in substantial numbers even more than you have mink and fox. Warmer weather and cropland food here, im guessing.
I have used cherry flavoring concentrate (in cake section from Hobby Lobby...more concentrated and intense than standard grocery store flavorings) in my DP baits for many years with a lot of success. Started dumping some down coon dirthole sets sometime back along trails when I ran out of DPs. It is highly attractive to coon but I did also pick up several fox and coyotes in my coon dirtholes which were both nice surprises. First couple I chalked up to odd incidents, but after several more I realized it may be more attractive to canines than I imagined it would be. No clue if it is curiosity or what is attraction, we have very darn few cherry trees around here. Not like a naturally occurring food source here.
Anyway, wanted to share that if it is helpful.
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Seems like some of the cherry oils I've tried are only good for a year then go flat. I'm assuming those are the synthetics as many synthetics only last that long.
