Much to my surprise our liberal demo governor lifted the mask wearing guidelines for the most part after the CDC said vaccinated folks do not need masks indoors or out. He also relaxed social distancing requirements and capacity limitations that have been in place almost a year now.

He did say individual businesses could continue to require masks and set other rules if they so choose.

And he also made some exceptions......schools, public transportation and medical facilities, the mask mandate continues.

I was shocked to hear the announcement but I think it was driven by the fact that any attempt at enforcing mask wearing by non vaccinated folks would run into violation of HIPPA laws protecting medical history.

MN. also relaxed the Mask mandate today,though Minneapolis and St.Paul,still are keeping it in place.

How do they know who's had the vaccine?

That is the problem in a nut shell. They do not know and can not legally ask. And I believe that is why the mask requirement was dropped for the most part.

King Cuomo still has all restrictions in place. Before this it was science and the CDC is right. Now this is usurping his power and he won't have it. If he does rescind it it'll be on his say so. What a piece of butt grabbing, grandmother killing scum he is

Perhaps. But there is also the risk of the emperor has no clothes moment. Many people, both within and outside of cities, stopped doing these things 10 months ago. And cases have continued to drop. Bureaucrats in authority want to take credit for the success too, so rather than keep the restriction while looking dumb while people ignored them, they may have folded to reality. Civil disobedience really does work because the state does not want to shatter the illusion of control. Also, it's easy to get cynical but we don't underestimate the power the power of Grace to convert hearts.

Regardless, next time (and there will be a next time and maybe not a virus), remember that courage is contagious

Less and less people following the mask wearing, more so in the rural areas the city folks seem to be holding on the them still. Signs still up saying you need to wear one but nobody in that store has one on it kind of ticks me off a bit.

Half the businesses i go in that have signs demanding masks have workers not wearing masks, or my favorite, wearing them under their chin. Customers shouldnt be expected to follow along when employees arent.

That’s what I’m seeing a lot Casey General is a good example of that, I was at the eye doctor yesterday and everyone had a mask on but most said they were not worried about Covid so it’s kind of confusing.
