The experts seem to say a product with at least 40% DEET is important to handle mosquitos nowadays. I don't know, but that's what I keep hearing on the news.

Thermacell mats use a synthetic version of the same compound found in chrysanthemums that repels insects. Allethrin. If it isn't too windy those thermacells are a game changer. Used them all the time on deer stands and turkey hunting

Mint is an excellent mosquito repellent. Easily grown and perrenial. Grab a few leaves and roll in your hands. Then rub on face, arms etc.
