A few minutes ago I was watching a baseball game that was streaming through a notebook computer owned by my wife to a big screen smart tv through use of a purchased MLB app. Suddenly a message appeared in the lower right corner of the screen from one of our nieces to my wife. The message was only on the screen for a brief period but i remembered about the first 10 words of the message(along with the from and to) so I asked my wife if she had gotten any such message and she said that she had just gotten that message in a text on her I phone. I am VERY ill informed about newer high tech goings on and i am wondering if any one here can offer a explanation for what I just described.

If you have "casting" to your TV, and your phone or Laptop is in "cast mode", it will display Notifications of incoming txt or calls on the TV :-)

Clarification!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I have chased this tail around, my wife has just realized that the message was an email, NOT A TEXT MESSAGE. Big difference and even I now understand what happened.

To utilize the MLB app, the TV is set to MIRROR so the big screen shows the same thing the computer screen does.

Yup. Mirror is basically the same as casting :-) Why not just download MLBTV web to your TV?

Need to turn DO NOT DISTURB mode on your phone/tablets when you want to watch something and not have notifications popup in the middle.
