Euthanize them. Maybe give one to the wife to raise, then she wont have those aspirations in the future.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Yes we have kept 3 beaver kits, all at one time. we had a permit from the DNR to keep them. Same deal as you, it was on a nuisance complaint and we caught the parents. The Student that was working with us that summer said she would take care of them , if we didn't euthanize them, and she did until she left for college a month later. So we took care of them. for 2 years. It was way worse than having human triplets. We had to have a special formula, mixed with goat milk until they got big enough to start eating solid vegetation. My husband said he has never cut so much poplar in his life as he did to feed those darn beavers. Also, they have to go to the toilet in water, so we either put them in the bath tub several times a day to see if they had to go and when the got bigger we got a kids pool. We kept them in a big cardboard box when they were small, it didn't take them long to chew a hole in that and run around in the house all night. when they got quite a bit bigger we built a cement block enclosure in the basement, where we could have the kids pool in it , and it was by a floor drain and it worked pretty nice. other than it had to be cleaned several times a day and put fresh water in it. And one night they decided they didn't want to stay in the enclosure anymore. it was about 3 cement blocks hi. they knocked the blocks over , and In the basement we had 3 bags of different colored grout in. they got in that grout and then proceeded to track grout all over the basement. Never saw such a mess. They decided it would be nice to chew the moldings on the door ways, so they made a mess of them. I could go on and on about how destructive they are, how much they can eat and how expensive it is to keep them . They have to be at least 2 years old to fend for themselves, we didn't shed a tear when we turned them loose on a private lake. So be sure your wife reads this. if she wants my phone number to call us, pm me. Good Luck ( yes they are cute when they are little, but they grow fast.)

H20, my pet dog ended my pet nutria experiment. Probably for the best.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
